There is no relation. The original ova was, for all its cuts and speed up, a faithful adaption of the VN. It was a Silent Hill 1-esque plot about using Ajisai to bring about the birth of their god. Just that the MC was unknowingly part of the religion that was going to use Ajisai for it. This adaption, though, throws the plot of the VN and the motivations and personalities of the characters out the window to try to do some sort of Battle Royale schtick for the position of Village Leader, which doesn’t make sense and it shows. Characters do things at random for no reason whatsoever. The girls throw themselves at men for something, just for the NTR shock. If you came here just for the porn, then this is probably be enough. But if you came here for the Kagirohi name or for the VN, I recommend just going back to the original OVA series.
