Now that I recall… I once read something that a Japanese girl wrote, so I’m sharing it with you:

Just 3 days ago some guy just passed by and hit me pretty hard in the head, while my boyfriend wasn’t looking. The rest, however,saw the guy and did nothing, only waited. I was too shocked to react in any way, honestly (so much with “I’d…”).

People do something bad because they know they will go away with it (in most cases). Since few women scream “Chikan!” and even less men rush to help them, the gropers know they have bigger chance to go away with this crime than with petty theft or car accidents.’
